I've been wanting to read the bible for a long time. I know my little sister, Daisy have been doing so and she have been encouraging me to do the same ever since she started. But for some reasons, I haven't started until now. There were days when it just totally slipped my mind, then there were times when I just don't know where to find a bible to read because to be honest, I don't have a bible here in Singapore. I bought one last time but I gave it to my younger sister, which she is using currently.
A couple of weeks ago, I watched a Feast episode by Bo Sanchez via youtube, and interestingly, his talk was about making "appointments" with God. He believes that as Christians we should set aside a fixed time everyday to just read 'The Word', worship God and just pray. That "appointment with God" doesn't have to be long, Bo actually recommended for first-timers to dedicate at least 4 short minutes every single day for Him. All we have to do is set the time, and commit to spend that specific time with God. However, as expected, after watching the talk, I got more interested with starting to read the bible but then again, the thought just slipped my mind...until last night when I just thought of an idea, that is to download a Bible app from my iphone so I can easily read it anywhere, anytime of the day.
And yes! Today is the day, that I finally made my very first appointment with Papa Jesus! Although I pray to God every night before I sleep, I listen to worship songs whenever I can, I find this "appointment" something different everything else that I do for God because it requires me to commit a certain time of the day and just decide to isolate myself from this world and focus on getting to know him more and more each day...
I am truly grateful... And I feel more blessed just thinking that I have my iphone to use as a tool to communicate with God. I am also over the moon whenI discovered that this Bible app that I just downloaded is equipped with audio which means I can just listen to it (just like audio books) if reading is not possible for some reason.
This is an ordinary Saturday that turned into a magnificent day because I suddenly saw all the little things that God has blessed me with... I am just truly happy.
Off to meet my husband at Orchard now...
Till next time,
Tina
